Please allow me to share the two manuscripts I used during the two Bible hours with the Gideons, Southern Luzon Camp, Philippines. The first talk was based on Luke’s version of the Great Commission (Luke 24:44–48). The second talk was Paul’s gospel presentation to King Agrippa, Bernice, and Festus (Acts 26:12-23). Both talks focused on the critical elements of the gospel. The Old Testament ceremonies, the moral law, and the Prophetic writings give a better understanding of the Person and Work of Christ. The work centered around the Lord Jesus Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection. The significance of which was explained by the apostles as witnesses; we call that the New Testament. The Lord Jesus expected His followers to proclaim “repentance for the forgiveness of sins.” Every gospel presentation should include repentance or similar words like “turn away from your sins” and “believe.” The one who truly believes will repent of their sins. May I suggest that we compare the gospel they proclaimed and the gospel we proclaim today? Are there similarities? Are there differences?
