Resurrection Power
Even though Jesus told Martha that her brother would rise again, she misunderstood. Her reply to Jesus showed that she knew that Lazarus would rise on the last day, but she had no clue that Lazarus would rise that day. Like Martha, we can misunderstand God’s word even if the meaning is clear in its context. Our own preconceived ideas and biases may hinder us from a clear understanding of God’s message, as revealed in the Scriptures. Therefore, we must humbly pray and study cautiously so we may accurately understand His word.
