Every now and then, we encounter a fascinating story. It could be a story of survival or a story of success. And because so many of us love those stories, authors write, publishers publish, movies are made, and storytellers tell them.
The human condition begs to hear narratives that inspire. It may make us happy for others or inspire us to emulate the hero in the movie. The point is that we need stories.
Narratives can sometimes entertain, especially if there is a happy ending or at least the most difficult odds are conquered. But more than the entertainment value, we must seek the timeless lessons that can catapult us to new heights of understanding.
The most famous book of wisdom, the Proverbs, instructs us to seek knowledge and wisdom like hidden treasures. Furthermore, it teaches us to value knowledge and wisdom above gold and silver, which applies to all Scripture.
That is why I am here writing about Scripture and why we should see our lives and our world through its lens. There is nothing better than the Holy Scriptures. Its wisdom is timeless. Therefore, I will attempt to echo the message of the Holy Book through notes, prose, and poetry. Most of the material will come from the expository sermons that I wrote and preached.
I realized that the human soul needs more than inspiring stories. It needs to hear the greatest account ever told; it is the story of eternity about the One who existed before all things, the One prophesied to die and rise again from the dead. He is the One who will rule all things for eternity.
There is much to tell, and there is much to write. But this short piece will do for now. The journey is long, but we have some time. My prayer is that you will accompany me on this journey to write. We will both attempt to echo eternity.
