Hi Pastor Ed. The Scripture is mentioning the WORD OF GOD and also mentioning the WILL OF GOD. Is there a difference between them and if there is any what is the difference?
The Word of God and the Will of God are closely related but distinct. The Word of God is God’s self-revelation, primarily through Scripture and ultimately in Christ, revealing who He is and what He commands. The Will of God refers to His divine purpose or desire, which can be sovereign (what He ordains) or moral (what He commands). While the Word reveals the Will—especially God’s moral will—not all of God's will is revealed in His Word. Thus, the Word communicates God's will, but God's will includes both revealed and hidden aspects beyond what is written (God did not reveal many specifics of His will, like events in the future. He has revealed what we need to know). So, in the related sense, they are interchangeable, but in the distinct sense, they should not be.
